The element H2O is oh-so essential to life. This jewelry is a tribute to this simple compound and the life forms that are found in it.

Bioluminescence is the ability of certain life forms to glow in the dark. Certain mushrooms, insects (think fireflies), plankton, jellyfish, and fish possess this. It serves different functions such as communicating with others in the same species, warning predators, and attracting prey, among other purposes. These fish earring borrow on the idea of bioluminescence. When exposed to a bright light for several minutes, they will glow in the dark for hours. I craft them out of Sterling, and use different pigments to add color and glow. They are resined twice for durability. I developed a way to create translucence in jewelry, and these fish feature this. They measure 1" x 1" and are light and fun to wear.

Okay, so nautilus shells may not be bioluminescent, but they are beautiful, and bioluminescence is cool, so why not combine the two? These nautilus shell earrings do indeed glow in the dark, an ability that certain sea life forms possess. They are also somewhat translucent, so seemingly glow just a bit during daylight hours, also. I make them out of Sterling silver and carefully handpaint them, sealing them with protective resin. They measure a little more than 1" high, by 3/4" wide, not including the Sterling earring wires. They are light to wear and seemingly float like a nautilus.

Ocean waves emit feel-good negative ions. They are also a metaphor for bringing in new fresh energy. This pendant may not give off any ions, but it will promote feelings of hope and peace. I fabricated it out of Sterling and used a techniques I developed to give it translucency and color. It has three layers of jewelry grade resin to give it visual depth and durability. It measures .75" wide by 1" tall and hangs from an 18" Sterling chain.
