Milkweed is the only food source for their caterpillars, so they lay their eggs randomly on the bottoms of the leaves. These earrings pay tribute to the monarch butterfly and this stage of its life cycle. The earrings feature fresh water pearl eggs that have been "laid" on the bottom of milkweed leaves.
