The Old Man of the Mountain was, and still is an iconic figure in NH. The symbol of the Granite State, and being made of said granite, he oversaw scenic Franconia Notch and the White Mountains until he fell in 2003. He is still celebrated as the quintessential Granite Stater...stoic, silent and profilic (which may not be a real word, but should be...you get the point). These earrings both celebrate him, and suggest where he may have risen to after his great fall...to the moon, of course. I make them out of Sterling silver and lacquered jeweler's brass, and dangle a little mixed metal star at the bottom for fun. They measure 3/4" wide by 1" tall not including their Sterling earring wires. They are a tribute to a great figure and special state.
