The Old Man of the Mountain was, and still is an iconic figure in NH. The symbol of the Granite State, and being made of said granite, he oversaw scenic Franconia Notch and the White Mountains until he fell in 2003. He is still celebrated as the quintessential Granite Stater...stoic, silent and profilic (which may not be a real word, but should be...you get the point). This necklace both celebrates him, and suggests where he may have risen to after his great fall...to the moon, of course. I handcraft the necklace out of Sterling silver and lacquered jeweler's brass, and dangle a little mixed metal star at the bottom for fun. The pendant measures 1 1/4" wide by 1 1/2" tall and it hangs from a 24" Sterling chain. It is a tribute to a great figure and special state.
