Crow or raven? Raven or crow? The choice is yours as to which remarkable bird this necklace pays tribute to. Both birds have a tendency to collect colorful and shiny objects, a trait that many of us can relate to, speaking for myself, anyway. I made the necklace by fusing and carving Sterling into a branch on which I placed a brass bird (your choice!) which I carefully painted and sealed with resin for durability. The bird holds a miniature penny (cool, eh?) in its beak. The necklace hangs from an oxidized Sterling chain and is adjustable for either 18" or 20.5".
And as an aside, it was inspired by the discovery of a raven's skull under a stand of tall white pines where we hear the ravens talking, (and they really do talk!)....which doesn't mean that it couldn't be in honor of the crows that visit here daily.
