African grey parrots have evolved to be good mimickers in their native territories in equatorial Africa, sometimes having a repertoire of over 200 different calls. They are also a favorite pet with distinct personalities and the ability to learn words, songs and sounds. I had neighbors whose African grey sounded like their ringing telephone, which kept them running. This necklace is a tribute to African grey parrots. I made it out of Sterling and brass, and it is suspended from an 18" Sterling chain. I carefully handpainted it and sealed it with jeweler's resin for durability. It is fun to give and to wear!
