The Twelve-spotted skimmer is a dragonfly that is found across North America. It is distinctive in that its wings have contrasting spots of black and white. These twelve-spotted skimmer wing earrings are a tribute to such a special creature. I fabricate them out of Sterling silver wire, and then use a technique that I developed to create translucency in jewelry. I add the spots, layer on protective resin, et voila, they are ready to fly. They measure 1 1/4" long by 3/8" wide, not including their Sterling earring wires. They are light as a dragonfly to wear and make the perfect gift!
