About the Artist: Lucy Golden Jewelry
About the Artist
Lucy Sogn Golden comes from a long line of makers. Her fore-parents made things out of necessary frugality, as they farmed the prairies in America's heartland. Life has gotten easier. Lucy now makes things for fun, and for sale, too.
Lucy lives and makes jewelry in a cottage where Robert Frost used to seek refuge and solitude, at the literal end of 'the road less traveled'. Her home and studio are nestled on a picturesque farm which overlooks the White Mountains of New Hampshire. From there she is able to explore and express her love of the natural world and the lighter side of life through her jewelry. She hand-crafts her work in sterling silver and brass, at times incorporating color with paint and other doo-dads. Her jewelry is light, often colorful, and fun to wear.
Lucy first started making jewelry in high school. Later, while earning a degree at Brown University, she took additional metals classes at The Rhode Island School of Design. After jewelry work experience in NYC and NH, she went out on her own. She is a Juried Member of The League of NH Craftsmen and has participated in their Sunapee Fair every August for the past 15 years. Her jewelry can be found in League of NH Craftsmen stores, as well as other locations nationally.
